I'm not much of a secular music fan. Sorry. Must be my BJU background or my independent roots. But I do find myself catching Idol to see how they do. I didn't catch Wed.'s show...I had taken the kids to AWANA and I had my Beth Moore class. I did see tonight where they sang Shout to the Lord. Supposedly last night they ended with that as well....I read many post on line where they edited out "Jesus" and added Shepherd. Funny that when Dolly Parton was on there they didn't edit her songs....and she even mentioned Jesus herself..( not that I know alot about Dolly's relationship with Jesus..I hope she has a personal one. Not sure I have a main "point" to this blog entry, but I think that "Jesus" is what is missing...we try to fill life with everything "but" Jesus..there just is no substitute....and contrary to what Oprah says " Jesus" is the ONLY way to heaven.

I watched the idol finale and I thought it was lacking one thing ---worship. There is a big difference in watching someone who loves Jesus sing Shout and watching people who are seeking their own glory singing it.
I see this even in the church. There are people who get up to sing and I see them trying to impress people instead of worship God - those people may as well stay seated, ya know?

I think you're so right though in that there's so much "spirituality" going on & it's so false because it's without Jesus...He's everything! Great reminder & thanks again for stopping by!
