Out and About

Saturday has proved to be a "get things done" day. David headed out to Midas to get a new muffler for our van and came home with a new pair of Crocs for himself. That's what happens when you have to kill time in Dick's Sporting Goods while you wait on your car. I've packed all morning , sorting through things trying to see what we already have that we don't need to buy for our trip. We have PLENTY of "sun scream" as Sean calls it.

We found ourselves in Target hunting for 2 new pair of swim trunks and ended up with four. Good price and we couldn't make up our minds! So we are the proud owners of an American Flag pair, a 'Mater pair, an alligator pair, and a pair that looks like bumblebee colors to me. Since it was lunch time we headed to Bojangles with some coupons we had for buy one get one deals. We did pretty good and had a good lunch of chicken, corn, biscuits and seasoned fries. mmmm

Our last stop was Big Lot's for some snacks and misc. items we needed. That store is dangerous for me. I found the boys some swim shoes...a Batman pair and a WWF pair ( I'm not crazy about WWF but it didn't have any pics..just the letters, and the shoes were $5.00 each. I found the same pair of Batman shoes online for $19.99...go Big Lots!!!)

We're home now. David is mowing. The kid's are into water outside in their old swim trunks. My house is upside down. If I can get motivated I hope it will be clean soon.

I'm wondering how far Kellie from http://www.busymamaof3.blogspot.com/ is in her journey to Korea with her family to pick up baby Elizabeth. I can't wait to see them all when they get back. I'll still be on vacation when they return. I know they are so excited.

My friend Diane is gearing up for a wedding in September of her oldest son, Brian. I used to babysit Brian when he was just a tot and his brother Brad too. Brian's marrying a gal from Chicago. I've been to Chicago a few times. Not a city you want to drive a stick shift in....I know!

And hey...if you are ever in the Sear's Tower and they have a sign that says "Zero visibility...half price on admission", don't think that's a good deal. You can't see a thing for the fog! The second time I went I paid full price but had a crystal clear view. I bet "Chicago Greg" has been there a few times!

Our pastor has been on a "getaway" for a few weeks studying and spending some time alone. I've missed having him around. I'm not sure he'll be back tomorrow or not. Kind of hope so...although I really like hearing our associate pastor too. http://www.tcbchurch.org/

Off to finish packing, cleaning and I hope to sneak off by myself a few minutes this evening to oh, maybe Wal-mart. ALONE! I saw the funniest video on You Tube about their being NO Wal-mart at Ocrakoke....how do those poor people survive!

Have a great day!

UMMMMM, could you maybe start using your blog for reminding your Alzheiner's friend of things that are going on at church - like the potluck tomorrow for which I have nothing to bring but will have to stop and purchase some lame food on the way to?????

"Chicago Greg" has been there many times. If you want to see the city from up above go to the John Hancock Center, it's much nicer than Sears. JHC is located at 875 N. Michigan Av., about 2.5 miles north of Sears. That's the high rent district and the whole area is good for sightseeing and shopping. It's also closer to the lake with a much nicer view.
