Happy Fourth!

Well it's here...Friday...and the Fourth! David is off work today. I'm glad he gets to sleep in a little. The kids are excited....we'll meet Grandma Walker at noon in Weber City so they can travel back to Norton, VA to spend the night. We'll be going over tomorrow night to cook out so we'll pick them up them.

Yesterday I worked at Half Time and then the kids and I ran to the Christian school with a friend so she could drop something off. We ended up at McDonald's. The kids has ice cream and I had an unsweet tea with Splenda. ( Just so you know..it's not the same as good old southern sweet tea! But it's WW friendly!) Not sure if I've lost or not. Last week I was up a few pounds. Go figure..I was faithful to my points but was sick most of the week . They tell me if you don't eat your points each day your body tries to hang on to the weight.....that's a bummer!

I looked over my classroom yesterday. Looks like I'm going to need a few bookshelves. I think the former teacher in that room must have taken a few to her new room. I'm going to get material today for curtains that my MIL is going to make. That will spice up the room a little. I can't believe that in-service starts August 4 and my kids go back August 11...where has the summer gone?

My aunt is wanting to come up Labor Day Weekend to do to Dollywood. That would be fun. This is my dad's sister. She'll be bringing my cousin Stephanie. 9 1/2 years ago Stephanie was the register attendant in my wedding....young thing..now she's getting ready for her second year of teaching and getting married next summer. I feel old.

Off to feed my oldest son ( We don't feed the other one..he eats too much! kidding~!) I need to finish packing some overnight bags. I think I can use a break but to be honest..I like having my kids with me. I just look at them and praise the Lord over and over for giving them to me. Are kids a blessing, even when they are rotten?

Speaking of rotten, I read something interesting yesterday on another blog. The girl was talking about old TV shows and how things are so different. The man who played the band manager on the Partridge Family was interviewed. He said the things that they say and do on "Two and a Half Men" ( never seen it) would have gotten them kicked off the air back in the 60's. He has a line where he was to tell Danny Partridge "that's just really rotten" and the network executives told them to take out "rotten" and put in "awful"...rotten was too harsh for prime time. Wow...to have the old standards again.

Have a great fourth! I saw where many of our American Flags are made and sent to us from China.....something wrong with that picture....I leave you with this:

July 4th day Jokes
What happened as a result of the Stamp Act?The Americans licked the British!

Why did Paul Revere ride his horse from Boston to Lexington?Because the horse was too heavy to carry!

Why did the British cross the Atlantic? To get to the other tide!

What do you call a parade of German mercenaries?A Hessian procession!

What would you get if you crossed a patriot with a small curly-haired dog?Yankee Poodle!

Did you hear the one about the Liberty Bell?Yeah, it cracked me up!

What would you get if you crossed George Washington with cattle feed?

The Fodder of Our Country!

What's red, white, blue, and almost as ugly as a dog?

A revolutionary warthog!

I know..how elementary! Remember , I live with a five and a four year old think the word "Underwear" is the funniest word on the planet!!!

Kids are never rotten. Some days they just aren't as good as other days. Cherish these moments with your kids because they grow up in an instant. Have a safe holiday.
