I woke up about 4:30 this morning. Mostly because "Thing 2" as I lovely call him, or AKA Sean, got in my bed for whatever reason. I flipped and turned and finally got up. Today we have parent/teacher conferences at school. I think it should be a good day...the conferences only last about 15 minutes and I have no real issues. The real issue is that I need to clean my classroom. ( My home, too, as far as that goes)
I was reading Angie Bundy's Blog this morning. Keep praying. Here is Mike's post:
Good Evening,
Today was a good day of recovery from the previous day. Angie did very well in therapy although she wore herself out. Her test results did come back today showing that the oral anticoagulant was not as effective as it needed to be so she is going back on lovenox. They took a specimen to see if what she is coughing up in the trach is problematic. Overall she had a good day and was resting when we left.
Gavin came to see his mommy after school at the hospital and they played together and hung out for a good while. I was able to visit early in the morning and after work. During the day Angie had Linda with her, Melinda and the girls visit twice (once to do her nails), Robert visited to from the church to pray with Angie and I am sure there were others that I have failed to mention.
She is really working very hard and we are all so proud of her efforts. They did a chest x-ray today to check on the potential aspiration from the other night. I will know more about it in the morning. Gavin had a big day today as well and is looking forward to a fun weekend. Parent teacher conferences are tomorrow at school (Gavin is asking for your prayers J haha. )
Thanks to all of you that visited today. Thanks to Allie for picking up and driving Gavin to the hospital and of course thanks to each of you for your prayers.
YAB,
Mike
After school yesterday I had a teacher's meeting. I didn't get out till after 5:00 so David came and picked up the kids and got them ready so we could go out for supper. We had a buy one/get one coupon for Smoky Bones. MMMM...not so sure how Weight Watcher friendly the place is, but it is good eating. I did really well though. We always get the 3 choice meat platter each and each small portions and bring it home and feast on it for a few days ...that is we do that when we have the buy one get one. My little family is tired. We stressed over AWANA and school work this week, therefore putting Daniel in a panic mode. He had a hard day at school yesterday...that's hard on a mommy...and I take some blame for that. Sean's day wasn't much better, but his teacher praised him. Apparently he had an accidental collision with his friend Ashur....Ashur hurt his ear on the chair and Sean was mortified, or so his teacher said. He was crying and ran to his teacher exclaiming " Miss Damanda! ( Amanda), I didn't meaaaaaaaaaaaaan to hurt Ashur, I'm sorry! I'm sorry!". She assured him it was an accident and not to cry. She's told me she would love a classroom full of Sean's...( I told her to hold that thought and come spend the first hour after school with him and then we'll see if that request still holds! They transform into these whiny little helpless creatures for the first while and then they come back into their beings and we are fine again.) Needless to say, AWANA was rushed on Wed. I don't know what it is this year, but finding the balance has been hard for us....but we go...and we will. We have our Bible verse at school on Tuesday. We tried starting AWANA early but Daniel gets the verses confused, so we've gone back to concentrating on the school verse. Spelling words are getting harder too. ( Feel my pain Bethanne?) I'm not asking for your pity ( although my flesh would eat it up right now!!! ha ha!) Just pray we find a balance. I don't want my kids to hate the WORD...but to love and embrace it. Daddy had some good ideas about homework time. I think after I've been in school all day my patience is a little worn. But all will be well.......................
In class on Thursday I had some friends of mine from our church come to give their presentation from their trip to Brazil this summer. There granddaughter is in my classroom. My kids sat in awe of the children with different color skin. They asked why some of the children only wore "underwear"...they weren't being silly either..it concerned them. They asked about the small houses, why there were no cars, why they mainly ate fish, beans, etc. They listened at Kym shared the gospel with them with her story cube. My hope is that a seed is planted for missions. Missionaries do go across the world, but they serve here at home too. Big missionaries were little people once too. The seed is planted somewhere.....................
I could use a Sugar-free Hazelnut Iced Latte with skim milk from Starbucks. Think my family would miss me at 5:12 a.m. if I went and got one from Starbucks?
Blessings!
