Out of the Mouths of Babes

Daniel, my 6 year old, was in a "thinking" sort of mood yesterday. The questions went something like this....

"Mommy, when I grow up will I get married and have kids? And they'll go with me to see their grandmother which will be you?"

"Mommy, did you know I'm almost ready for college?"

"Mommy, when people die and go to heaven do they keep their same name?"

"Mommy, do kids who were born first get more things than kids born after that?"

HMMMM.......

I'm not ready to be a grandmother or for him to go to college. I look at my kids and they are growing so fast.

Tomorrow I go to Norton, VA to see my doctor for my 6 month checkup. He hasn't seen me since I lost my 36 1/2 pounds...ya think he'll be surprised?

I'm ready for a day off tomorrow. The rain today made for a long day, not a bad day, just a long one.

Our Christmas tree at home is fiber-optic. The strand of lights we had on it never did light up when we plugged it in. Now the fiber-optics aren't working. It was David's grandmother's tree. Kind of hate to see it wearing out.

My cat, Brother ( or Bubba as we all call him) had surgery yesterday. Poor kitty. Poor pocket book. Last year we had to have an ear operated on. The growth came back and we tried one more time to help the cat. David is bringing him home this evening. The vets ( we've been to two places) say it's not cancer, but a nasty growth. Hope this time they were able to get it under control.

Alot of randomness from a tired mind.

Everytime I read about your weight loss I just praise the Lord. He is so Awesome!! I still have to be "reminded" as my eating sometimes gets over indulgent, but the way He keeps me on track is amazing. After years and years of never losing it and now I'm approaching a year since starting First Place. I can't believe it. Learning to surrender and be filled with the Holy Spirit in the area of food has transformed my whole walk with Him. I am just so overjoyed and proud of you, girl!!

Be sure to give God ALL His due glory when you knock your doc's socks off at that appointment!!

Bless you,

Amanda
