It's morning, get your eyes open!

It's morning, get your eyes open! Ahhhhhh, just what you want to hear on a Saturday morning that you can sleep in..and it's only 7:15. That's my Sean...early riser....David had gone for a walk and Daniel had crawled into my bed to catch a few more zzzzz's. Sean had an agenda.....to play with his Polar Express Trains and for me to see his track. ( Trust me, I have seen that track lots of times!) I encouraged him to go play a few minutes till we could get our senses about us. Finally by 7:40 he had persuaded me to get up...soon as I did I heard "Hey, I'm coming too!" and out of the bed Daniel bounded.

One advantage to getting up today..I think my husband is taking us to breakfast...mmmmm..that's a favorite thing to do for me...breakfast on a Saturday. It's ok to sleep in now and then, but laying around, especially on a Saturday that you are going to eat breakfast means that you don't get the "best" of the food bar. If you wait too long it's starts getting into the lunch bar and that's just not what I live for when I've been wanting a breakfast bar.

I wonder, no, I know for sure, that many times I "snooze" in my Christian Walk. It's "daytime" on the Lord's time table...lots of friends and family who still aren't believers, so much to do that I need to get started and not play church but make it real. Yes, I get tired and weary sometimes in my christian walk...but I'm learning to say yes where I know I can be fruitful and ask the Lord to help me say "no" when it's going to be a busy job in the church that won't further his Kingdom. I think about all the time I "snooze" in my witnessing. When I know I should offer a word and I don't I don't know if I'll get that chance again. Sort of like the breakfast bar..sometimes the good catches are right under our noses and when we wait, the catches start disappearing just like all that good food.

Oh, it's OK to rest, I just don't want to slumber through things I know I can make a difference at. Who knows, maybe by me getting up and getting on with what has for me, someone else who's been slumbering to will be inspired to get up and say "Hey, I'm coming too!"
It's daytime in the Lord's scheme of things....guess I'd better get my eyes open to see what today holds for me!
