The Big Screen

Summer is upon us and with such comes boredom for the kids at times. Today we found ourselves at the Carmike Theater in Johnson City watching Kung Fu Panda and eating popcorn.

I'm glad I'm not a movie critic..I wouldn't know how to score this one. No real bad words but some "phrases" I could have done without.

I was saddened to see that Tim Russert from Meet the Press died. I'm not a real fan of NBC but i hate it for any family. He was only 58.

Yesterday was water day at Half time. Here are a few pics of the little angels playing in the water.

I was thinking today about God's goodness to us. We take for granted so many times the blessings we have in our lives. Most of us have "cushy" lives...maybe not living in a palace, but we live better than most of the world. We don't want for food or clothes...we don't lack a place to live...we don't need a car to drive. And yet we find ourselves not satisfied, always wanting more. I was also reminded today that there are some folks out there who have stepped outside there comfort zone to "help others" in need. I've been guilty at times of griping to the Lord when situations didn't go exactly like I wanted them too. Patience must truly be a virtue...I'm glad he is patient with us even when we are not so patient with Him. I was reminded this week that not everyone in this world is "nice" ( And just for the record for my "paranoid reader", no it isn't you! ha ha) Sometimes people speak off the cuff before they get their facts straight and yes we still have to be nice in our responses. That has to be God's grace working in us when we are able to do that. I know...what????? it's not worth going into but PTL God is still in control.

I've been keeping up with several friends on several blogs. Some have had major changes in their lives that they are adjusting too. One reminded me that when I complain about not getting away very often that they never get to because of situation within their families regarding health issues that don't allow them too. Others are in need of work in the area rather than the job that takes the spouse out of town for days at a time. So I'd like to take some focus off of "me" and put some energy into you! My dear friend Donna asked me , when she was in the hospital that I pray for her "specifically" in an area. I like that. So may I pray specifically for you? If you'd like to post a prayer concern it would be my pleasure to take it before the Throne. I know I need prayer from my fellow christian sisters.

Blessings!

I'll be glad to also pray for the people you listed in your post today. We all have needs and wants, but, mine are always minor compared to the needs of others.

Where two or more are gathered...

Thanks for clarifying for your paranoid reader. Makes me feel much better.

Please pray that my husband hires someone to help him do the man's work at our new house so that my back and arms and legs and feet and neck can recover from the past few months of doing man's work.

You are so sweet and such a great friend!
Please pray that I can learn to trust God with the little things and not just the big things. Also that we can become a better steward of our finances. As you know I am not afraid to lay it on the line. I can share my faults with friends, I just have a hard time admitting them to God. Like He doesn't already know!!!!

When we pray specifically God answers specifically. I asked you on that day to pray that God would allow food to stay with me. By that night He answered your prayer. How great is our God!!!! Thank you Luann for being a real prayer warrior and thank you for your friendship:)
