Our Christian school does not celebrate "Halloween" and our church doesn't either. At church in place of that we have a Fall Festival that is awesome. If you are near Gray , TN it's a super evening of fun and it's all free! At school today I had my Harvest Party with my class. It started out a little shaky when my room mother called to say her son had a 102 temperature and she wasn't sure she could come. She brought all the goodies and it worked out wonderfully...a God thing I say....another mother had sent word if we needed help she could come and she had no idea this was going on. So............ we proceeded as planned and it was a great day. We started out with Chic-fil-a nuggets, chips and a fruit tray and juice boxes. Next we cut open a pumpkin and explored the inside, saving the seeds to roast later. We did a fall craft, and made caramel apples for snack in the afternoon. We read a book called the Pumpkin Parable which was really cute and great for a Harvest Party. It was cold today..........we tried to go outside for a few minutes but we promptly came right back inside.
David and I voted early...we went Saturday to downtown Johnson City. I was a little surprised at the line but then again no so surprised. It could have been worse. Daniel asked what we were doing and I told him again about the presidential office and that we "voted" to see who would be it. He kept asking " Who are you picking". I wasn't ashamed to tell him, but it was funny...every time he's asked this little gentlemen in front of me would cock his ear to hear. I think we have become consumed with this election. That's not to say we shouldn't be up on our facts and be concerned...we should! I was reading several blogs today...I agree that's it's hard to understand how someone can vote apart from there beliefs...true Godly beliefs...I'd better leave it at that. I feel a sermon coming on.
The news just overwhelmed me today on one hand...
---the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother
---the revelation that Jennifer Hudson's nephew was likely found dead in an SUV....waiting on autopsy
---Georgian abandons 12 year old son a Nebraskan Hospital ( Twelve...not newborn! How must that kid feel????)
---constant news on the Stock Market
I purposely searched to see what good news I could find. I had a hard time finding much on the U.S. and Global scene that was posted.
I did find some Good News though:
John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I rest on that because I know the Lord, personally I might add. He hasn't lied yet. I so grateful he is a solid source that we can rest on in the present day we live in.
More good news? Angie Bundy is at Shepherd in Atlanta and continues to make progress. She is typing some responses on her caring bridge site with a little help from Mike her husband. What progress. Keep praying for Angie.
I'm off to Weight Watchers soon. I'm praying for a weight loss of at least a pound. Two would be great...maintaining would be fine too.
I have some photos of our fun little day at school. I'll post photos by tomorrow I hope. My neighbor wants to walk after weight watchers. Brrrr. I'm a good sport let me tell you..it's 46 degrees and a little on the breezy side!
And Eddie, your logic on why Elvis is related to Fall is so Bethanneish! The apples don't fall far from the tree for sure! ha!

Man, it was cold up here too. I mean real cold! The wind chill was in the 20's and last week we were in shirt sleeves. We had heavy snow flurries today!
You inspired me LuAnn. I'm going to try to do a post of good news items when I get done here. Just something to get me out of a rut.
I hope you did well on your weigh in. I look at your weight loss, though, and I am truly impressed with your persistence and your success!
Hey Luann, just wanted to help you understand the "Elvis" situation. Always just trying to help out a fellow Tennesseean. Speaking of Bethann, she sure is one rotten apple but her Dad thinks she is the "Stuff". I've got two other rotten apples that are just as rotten as she is, but I'm one lucky apple tree.
Your fall day at school sounds like such fun! I don't think I've read that book but I'm thinking I've seen it in the store. Yummy caramel apples!
I love your "Good News"!
