Missions Conference came to and end last night at our church (http://www.tcbchurch.org/). We had supper before the service and I sat down with our friend Amy and her daughter Gabby and a few other folks. I looked up and Edgar Fegahly, the Lebanese pastor and his wife Rosanne sat down beside me. I was a little overjoyed in my heart. I had a lot of questions for him about the area he works in especially since my doctor is the same nationality. He and his wife were a joy....we talked about the people in Iraq, Lebanon , Syria, conversed about our Church at Tri-cities, talked about how he met his wife, etc. In that conversation I asked "Where did you go to College" and they both chimed in "Bob Jones University". I grin....so did I...I don't find alot of people in the area who did..I'm sure there are some. We talked about a friend of his, Cindy Swanson, who is a radio personality and a lifelong friend of his. I found Cindy's blog ( see my fave links) and discovered that her parent were missionaries to the same area as the Feghaly's ( SPELL HIS NAME DIFFERENT EVERY TIME!) I don't know her personally but I enjoy perusing her blog. He smiled when I mentioned her name....must be a special connection. The speaker was great too...what a challenge.
This fall our church is hosting a Beth Moore Simulcast and I've agreed to head that up. I think it's exciting to offer it at our church....some women don't like going away to these events and this way we enjoy on in the comfort of our church. For the cost of the ticket the ladies will also get a nice evening snacks, a good breakfast on Saturday and most like mid morning snacks. This weekend I'm going to the E-Women Conference in Johnson City at Freedom Hall. Lisa Welchel from "The Facts of Life", Thelma Wells, Mandisa, Chonda Pierce, Jennifer Rothchild, and many more are on the program. Busy week here.....
I can't decide if I feel bad or not. I sat in church last night arguing with myself. Ever done that. "ok, I don't feel good"...."well, maybe I don't feel too bad"....."no, I don't feel good"..and so on. I'm not sure which personality won out...this morning I'm not great, but not bad. I think I'm just tired. At least I'm not subbing today. Tomorrow I'm in Spanish...ha! No Comprendo!!!! I had two years of Spanish in high school and I could probably ask you for water, where is the rest room and count to maybe 20. Isn't that sad? I was Valedictorian in High School...but that Spanish was not a really profitable class for some reason. Maybe I should have taken it in College again ...I would have had to worked for it for sure and maybe retained more of it.
I love my college years, but I was really homesick..didn't even stay my first year. I did finish in 3 1/2 years when I went back a year later. I love my education classes. I found my coaching classes to be a little tougher. My GPA....which I don't really know off hand ....wasn't top of the class, but wasn't bottom of the barrel either. I had a few C's I was very proud of let me tell you. Kinesiology! yikes, ugh, yuck! But I passed!!! High school I was Valedictorian..I found college to be a whole new world....but I'm glad for the experience.
I had lunch with a friend on Tuesday. I really enjoyed that. We went to Chic fil A....and my 4 year old dominated the conversation. I usually say "eat all four chicken nuggets and then you can go play"...but this time I said .."Ok, you ate two..go play"....my my..my My brother Steve says I talk alot.....I think I gave birth to an auctioneer...he's a cutie and he can hold his own in the world of conversation...with anyone!
Last night at church our minister of music sang a song called "Faces"...about the people we meet and minister too in life and we never know exactly who our ministries have touched but in heaven we'll see the faces. I've wondered over the year in Christian Education how many I've really touched. I've led a few students to the Lord, counseled a few, etc. You look at some "hard cases" and wonder if you've impacted them at all....We were reminded that we are to "go tell" and it's the Holy Spirits job to convict and transform. Being faithful where you are.....
One kid off to school, husband off to work, pre-schooler watching a cartoon. Guess I'd better get a plan for the day....cleaning is on the top of my list, but I think I'll just mark through it....I have friend who actually "enjoy" a day of vigorous cleaning. I think they need counseling!

Cleaning's been on my list all week...I definitely don't feel well. Hope your not getting it. We had to miss Tue and Wed night b/c Jacob has fever (101.4) and I have whatever he has, too. Oh well!! Pic's hubby took a beautiful. I didn't do the tag thing right, but I don't have 5 people to tag if you take you and Beth out. Poor me. LOL!
I don't stress over sending it to exactly five or anyone else for that matter. Thanks for playing! Hope Jacob feels better. Jacob is a name I had picked out for my boys too...But we went with Daniel and Sean.....I love the name Jacob
