Back to Reality

After getting over the "tiredness" of travel, reality set in today. Back to the grind...but it's all good. Tomorrow the kids and I head to "little school" as we call it. It's a two day a week "mother's day out" program at our church that I used to work at. I agreed to work this summer. The kids will be in the same class. I hope they enjoy seeing their friends.

I went by the Christian School today to walk in the gym. I'm aggravated in my weight gain over the past 9 months. Does my sudden urgency over the weight have anything to do with going to see my doctor this coming Wednesday? Probably. He's been after me to do Weight Watchers or something to help get me started. The secretary from school decided she's like to give it a whirl too so next week we are going for it.....say a prayer. I'll celebrate each pound if I can keep up with it. "I can do all thing through Christ"....keeps ringing in my ear.

Anyone else's children ever been abducted by aliens???? Mine have. We ate at Garfield's in the Kingsport Mall tonight. I had a "free meal" coupon from Mother's day that expired Wed. and I wanted to use it. I don't know if I'm just tired or what, but my little angels were a little more on the devilish side. After repeated warnings we terminated the "treat" of going to the gumball machine after the meal. Oh my, you'd think I shot their grandmother right in front of them or something!!! No gumballs for that behavior....sigh....."Lord Jesus, come quickly" for selfish reasons I might add.

I was reminded this week of how good God is to send "friends" into our lives. I've been guilty of setting my sights on a certain "friend" and trying to make it work and things not exactly getting to the level I wanted it too. When in actuality God had a "good friend" waiting in the wings...been there for a while...but I was to distracted to notice. Funny how God knows what He's doing ALL the time. We humans aren't very patient people at times are we??? I'm ever so glad HE is longsuffering.

Father's Day is almost upon us. I miss my dad. Wish you all could have known him. Godly man that worked hard to give me opportunities to be who I am today. I'm forever grateful.

In honor of Father's Day I thought you might enjoy this clip by Anita Renfro. (She's the gal that did the Momsense song to the William Tell Overture)

Busy week ahead. Praying for patience to endure it right now!!

Blessings!

Okay, when you say things like "I've been guilty of setting my sights on a certain "friend" and trying to make it work and things not exactly getting to the level I wanted it too" - it makes me kind of paranoid.......

Sorry I haven't responded to your comments and emails. Life here is a little hectic, getting the house ready and packing!

I did take photos but most of them turned out blurry. I am NOT a photographe! UGH!

Tim Kitts was taking photos also and they looked good. Maybe he will get them to Kellie and she can post them on her blog.

ps.....you've got a friend in me..
