Things have been crazy busy around here! Yesterday we went back to church at 5:30 for the "I'm Big Enough" one time class our church has for preschoolers who are turning or have turned four and will be going to "Big Church" in the fall. Here are some photos:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Will Smith 's soon-to-open private school is not a Scientology facility, as some reports have suggested, the academy's director said.
Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have founded the New Village Academy, scheduled to open in September.
The school will use instructional methods developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard called study technology. And a few teachers belong to the church.
But the couple say they are not Scientologists, and the academy's director insists the facility has no religious affiliation.
"We are a secular school, and just like all nonreligious independent schools, faculty and staff do not promote their own religions at school or pass on the beliefs of their particular faith to children," New Village Academy director Jacqueline Olivier told the Los Angeles Times.
Oliver said some of the school's staffers are Scientologists, Muslim, Christian or Jewish.
In addition to reading and math, the school offers classes on yoga, robotics and etiquette.
Ok...I was taught if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Wil and Jada may not "profess" Scientology, but they obviously like some of the philosophy of the dude that started the whole thing..they are using his ideas as the base for his school. Robotics? ok.........................The yoga concerns me too...and please, no comments if you are a yoga fan...I'm not disputing any physical pros of the art, but I am concerned about those that take it to the transcendental state of meditating and "leaving themselves"....that's a whole 'nother blog.
In church last night Sean saw two people getting baptized at the beginning of the service. I love the questions that follow....great platform to talk about what it means to be saved. Our baptismal candidates wear white robes. After the "man" was baptized and exited the pool Sean was wide eyed...I don't know if he thought the white robe made him an angel but he said " Where did he go to mommy, Heaven??" I tried to explain the process to him, that baptism is a "picture" of salvation and people don't immediately go to heaven. We were laying on my bed after church and he said " I'm scared of getting baptised". I said "why?" He said " I just aint ready to go to heaven". Out of the mouth of babes. I told him to relax..that we'd talk about baptism when he was ready to ask Jesus into his heart. He said " Well, when kids get baptized do they get to go home with their Mommy's?" "They sure do" I assured him. Guess from a kids perspective it did look like they pushed you under the water and then they disappeared behind that wall.
I weight in tonight at WW....I was so sick last week..you'd think I would have lost alot. I think I'm the same or maybe a pound up. And I stayed well within my points..the human body is a strange thing.........

Watch out...whenever I went up a pound at weigh ins...the next week I would drop 3-4...it's like Satan just wants to discourage you...and then when you stick to following the Lord...bam! He blesses!!
Great post about Sean's questions too. I'm so overwhelmed at the responsibility that lies ahead with Jacob...but I'm confident if I just keep MY eyes on the Lord...then Jesus will take care of the rest.
Blessings this week.
Amanda
