A Day in the Smoky Mountains

Yesterday we took the kids to Dollywood. We have season passes and had only used them once this year. WE had a great day, but it was sure hot. It was Kid's Fest in the park. Sean has recently taken a liking to Veggie Tales , especially the songs they sing, and Veggie Tales Live was in the park. He was fascinated with the characters and was a little put out that Bob the Tomato wasn't in the opening scene. This the year the kids were tall enough to actually ride a few bigger rides. Sean was not into the "getting wet" part of a few of the rides so we spent 1.75 for a yellow rain poncho. Worth the small amount we spent! I can't believe we didn't snap a photo of our little "California Raisin".....

We saw David's brother and his family in the park...we didn't know they were going, and I saw a few former students. I talked to my mom last night. She had talked to my brother who had gone to the beach for the weekend. Seems my oldest niece who is 34 and her three kids had been there all week and he took my other niece (32) and her kids to join them for the weekend. He's a brave soul. I'm sure it was fun. My brother started young as a dad...like 17-18...I was 35 as a first time mom...so it's like we have two different families.

I usually love "Crocs" and have the cutest pair of sandals..let's just say "cute" does not equate to comfort...I have a huge blister on the inside of my foot....so my lovely Croc sandals will not be making a repeat visit to D-Wood.

Getting reading for church and Sunday school. Hope you have a blessed Lord's day.

I would love to go to Dollywood someday. It looks like fun and it is a Christian theme park, right? Maybe someday when I have more time on my hands and grandkids that I can drag along with me.

Dollywood is the hottest place on the planet in the summertime - I think it is the black asphalt and the fact that there is no breeze blowing there from April to November.........but it IS fun!

What fun! We recently returned from our annual vacation in Gatlinburg. I would love to live near the area. Mountains are calling me.

I would just as soon have my finger nails pulled off as go to Dollywood. I know that sounds bad but that's one place I hate. Been there twice and not sure why the second time but I remember it being so hot and bad. Sorry, but I'm glad you guys had a great time.
