Oh to be right!

I sense a "gloating" sort of feeling coming out of Chicago....and I feel it all the way here in East Tennessee...and all over a $20 bill! For those of you who don't know, the lesson for today is on twenty dollar bills and Jackson is on the twenty for the record. It has been confirmed. Oh Gregory....you'll be wrong one of these days and I will remind you that you are!! trust me!!! tee hee

Yesterday was a long day, but good. We got up and went to the farmer's market and to
Jonesborough Days ( remember, the kids were at Grandma's). We scooted over to VA for a cookout at 1:00 only to find that something had snatched my youngest son's personality and had taken up residence in his little body. Remember Bethanne's comments on her children in the store? Let me tell you, I may have one up on her . Nothing pleased him, he cried, I punished, he cried, I sighed, he griped, I punished, he cried , I contemplated jumping off a bridge. "this too shall pass" I said to myself. Today he is back with us in body and spirit. Praise the Lord!!!

I get a lump in my throat during election years. I hate to come off as a "know it all"....I don't know it all, but I Know the ONE who does. When I vote I have to consider how the Lord principals fit into all this. I miss my dad..such a man of principal. I get aggravated when I talk with other Christians who seem to vote according to the "purse strings only" and not with conviction. There is no perfect candidate. I hate to burst any bubbles....sometimes it comes to the lesser of two evils. I states to someone I love very much that I couldn't vote for a certain person based on many thing...and the sanctity of life issue was one of them. The comment was "they don't have anything to do with that!"????? Not even worth arguing with them....breaks my heart. One voice does make a difference and it does matter...it does it does it does. I want to rise up and "preach" and then I get a sense of quietness in my spirit that does not come from me. I know even as Christians there may be minor things that we disagree on even in politics, but when God makes it clear how he feels on issues like marriage , family, morals, etc. etc., how can we do otherwise???? I am praying for wisdom . Everything we do is about HIM, not about ME, not about YOU, but about HIM. I pray we use our God given senses to study out and see what God does care about.

Whew...got that off my chest.

I had extended session today..ie: taking care of kids while parent's are in the service. It's not my week, but I switched with a girl who was going on vacation. Not a bad week, just a lot of diapers, alot of singing, and a lot of reassuring that mommy would be back.

Have I ever told you how much I love our Pastor in a Christ like sense? He warms my heart to hear him preach the truth. He shared this clip today in church. I almost couldn't contain myself for wanting to shout "preach preach"! This is my heart desire...to have eyes to see the needs of other beyond myself....really...isn't that what Christ would do???

Great video! We should take time to see, or imagine, what all's going on in others' lives, and show more love and understanding.

I agree with you totally about our Presidental candidate. I am praying hard that a good, strong, moral leader will be raised up.
I don't understand either how Christians can overlook such issues that go against God's Word...like abortion...same sex marriages etc.

On a lighter note, you can come fishing with us anytime you want.
My husband is so good to put the minnow on and to take the fish off the hook.
I really did try to catch a minnow but couldn't and once I tried to get the fish off the hook and couldn't get it off.
He's used to helping and loves to see me catch fish. He cracks up, actually. I usually drag the fish halfway up the bank and grass so I won't lose it.

We had a great time.

Have a good week.
Glad your little one is back to his "old" self. :)

I agree with voting for the candidate that most resembles Christian values. Even if that person may not be as good from a business standpoint. If he or she tries to live by Christian principals, I truly think God will guide them in the other aspects of their job. Besides they all have enough advisers and I don't think the president makes the decisions alone anyway.

On the lighter side..... as far as the 20's are concerned. "If you can't run with the big dogs, ... then stay out of the kitchen".... or whatever that dumb saying is.

Isnt it funny when a northerner tries to use southern sayings???? :-) Just kidding, Greg!!!
There is something about kids being with the grandparents that tends to bring out the worst in them, dont ya think?
I got out of my night in the nursery tonight - praise the Lord for the birthdate of our country!!! (Have I mentioned that I am not called to the preschool ministry????;-)

I still like my version of the "southern" saying better. It's more original.

I'll concede on the "originality!"

Thanks for the clip. Terry was on the road this morning right after SS and missed the service. I'm with you -- I love Arden too. We are so blessed! Debbie

Hey girl--been a while since I've had a chance to stop by. Glad I did. We saw this video in church a while back--it is really a great reminder! Take care and have a great week!

Great post, glad you and David had some time together this weekend! I know all about switching of kids personalities...........there are several times I have considered calling in a exorcist. LOL
