Yesterday morning we got up early and headed to Virginia. Our former church was hosting a ladies Brunch with a Pajama Party theme. I haven't been in a while. These luncheons were sort of my "baby" that I "birthed" about 7 years ago. I am pleased to see they are keeping up with them 2 times a years. David and the kids wanted to go to Golden Corral ( Before I was going to a brunch???) ...so I had the Omelet guy make me a veggie omelet with egg whites...we had an interesting conversation....I will be finding out next time I'm in if he's in church....but he shared alot about his family...don't know why....but it sent my mind to a place of prayer for him.
I ran into Wal-mart for a pair of "fuzzy polka dotted PJ's". Would you care to know they were an XL? Woo hoo! For those of you who have been a size 4 since your wedding day and 20 years later you are now a size 2, this moment of excitement is probably not for you. But for those of us who rarely ever have seen an XL since high school, or fourth grade for that matter ( ha!) are celebrating. Please excuse the momentary lapse in blogging while we hoop and holler!!!!!!!!
One think I had forgotten is that our old church is heated by a coal furnace....it's in the hills of southwest VA. I roasted! The speaker was great and the food was, well, more of Golden corral stuff. I tried to graze......
My mother in law and I went home and changed clothes and headed with my family and David's brother to the Craft Fair at Mtn. Empire. David and I bought some apple butter...extra cinnamon and one sugar free made with Splenda...they were making in right there on the spot....mmmmm. The kids got apples that the vendor peel, cored and sliced with the old version of the apple, peeler, corer slicer. They got to shell corn and then grind it down so it could be made into corn meal. Our whole clan shared a blooming onion and we walked and walked and walked. I did see a few folks I knew...and a girl that taught Kindergarten in VA when I taught 3rd and 4th grade combination.
David's mom and I hit Peeble's for the sales. I found a hot pink sweater and a pair of black pants ( once size down mind you). The pants were 6.99....yahoo too! I love a deal (and Yes, Eddie, I needed them!!!!)
For the finale his family wanted to go to Pizza Hut. (Can anyone say, " hard to stay on Weight Watchers yesterday???)...I'm sure I burned up some of my extra points...but I rarely use them. And I thought I did pretty well considering.
We are up and almost ready for church. I'm so glad my dad instilled in me that we go to church every week and we make no excuses cause by body can think of a thousand right now why we should not go to church and just go to Sunday School. As I was away yesterday having a good time, I was reminded out good my God is to have led us to our new church. So if you are my "local" Church, know how much we appreciate you!
I'll post pics later. My hair is wet, my family has been bathed and had breakfast and I haven't eaten yet. If I don't get with it I'll be walking to church because David will leave me! ha!
Have a blessed Sunday!

XL, you say? WOOHOO!!!! I repreat WOOHOOO!!!! Now that is what I'm talkin' about!! I havent been a size 2 since I was 2, so I am rejoicing right along with you. You looked very nice and slim in your sale outfit from Peebles. We have one in E-town and I find sale stuff there all the time.......sounds like a fun day ----and apple butter? I heart apple butter.
Sounds like y'all had a great weekend.
My husband had to work this morning and it would have been so easy for me to stay home and be lazy, but just like you, I was raised going to church every Sun.
It's just a part of me and something I choose to do now that I'm grown & I love it & really don't like to miss.
I thought the very same thing...
I had such a great day yesterday with my daughter eating and shopping. God blessed me with that beautiful day.
I'm always enjoy church. Our church is full of such precious, loving people who bless me like crazy!
Have a good week.
