Surprise!

I love surprises! I woke up to a phone call saying school was on 2 hour delay. So I laid my weary head back down. I woke up a second time to the call that said "no school". Oh glorious day! It was a long day yesterday in my little room. The other kindergarten teacher and I just know someone snuck into our room and scattered a clear, odorless substances that cause the kids to go bonkers. Maybe the dust will settle over the weekend.

I asked recently for you to pray for several of my friends. Here are the update.

Diane Wilson had back surgery about 2 weeks ago. She is moving slowly but able to get out for short walks and such. Diane lives in SC.

Angie Bundy is the mother of Gavin. Gavin attends our school and is in fourth grade I believe. Angie is scheduled to come home Dec. 3. The family is getting the house ready with handicapped ramps and such.

Trudy Owens is our friend from Norton, VA. Trudy attended the church we did in VA and was my neighbor. Trudy had a bought with Hodgkin's Lymphoma a few years back and has now been diagnosed with non Hodgkin's lymphoma. She started chemo on Tuesday and takes if 5 days straight and then is off 2 days. My mother in law reports that this has been very difficult on the family. Trudy is sometimes combative and disoriented. Trudy is a sweet lady of German descent. She is kind hearted and would help anyone. When I was given a baby grand piano she offered to store it for me...she's actually had it for a few years in her basement....taking up space. Please pray for Trudy and her husband Ken as they deal with the issues at hand.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I was reminded this morning that we don't have to wait for that day to be thankful. My Sean came and crawled in my bed and said in the sweetest tone "Thank you mommy for my new footie PJ's". Gratitude exhibited in a simple form. How precious!

Isn't it glorious to wake up and realize you don't have to work today. It's like waking up and thinking it's Friday, then realizing it's Saturday!

I will still keep your friends and their families in prayer.
